Dal ghosht Recipe is a combination of chana dal and ghost that is mutton with dal which is a very wonderful combination. This combination is usually found in Hyderabad.


  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Chopped onion 1 medium sized
  • Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  •  khada masala(long ,dalchini, shahi jeera ,tez pata, kalimirich)
  • Boiled chana dal/tur dal 1 cup
  • Tomato finely chopped 1 cup
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Mint leaves finely chopped,
  • Few pieces of dudi
  • salt to taste


  1. Add 3 tablespoon of oil in in cooker, add chopped onions, ginger garlic paste , red chili powder, turmeric powder, saute for few minutes , now add boneless mutton and mix well and pressure cook the mixture.
  2.  After pressure cooking the mixture, now add boiled chana dal/tur dal ,and dudi pieces and mix well ,and allow it to boil.
  3.  Take another frying pan add oil and add finely chopped onions, add all the garam masala coriander,tomato and mint leaves and saute.
  4.  Now pour the entire mixture in mutton and cover the lid and cook for few more minutes.
  5.  Serve hot with chapati or naan.
