Paneer Tikka Masala

Introduction:

Paneer tikka masala is a marinated paneer cubes along with onion,tomato and capsicum ,served in spicy gravy. It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka masala.

 

Ingredients For Marination:

  • Paneer cubes 300 grams
  • Onion diced 1 cup
  • Tomato diced 1 cup
  • Capsicum (green)  diced 1 cup
  • Hung yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  • Kasoori methi  powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil 2 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients For Gravy:

  • Onion (finely chopped) 1 cup
  • Tomato (Finely chopped) 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder 2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin (grounded) 1 teaspoon
  • Cashew nut powder 1/2 cup
  • Green chili (slit) 4
  • Kasuri methi 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil 3 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

  1. In a large bowl add yogurt,red chili powder,garam masala powder,turmeric powder,kasoori methi powder,lemon juice,oil and salt to taste mix well.
  2. Now add paneer cubes, diced onion ,capsicum and tomato mix well, set aside for 1 hour.
  3. Thread the paneer cubes,onion ,capsicum and tomatoes on wooden skewers/metal skewers set aside.
  4. Grill in an oven at 350 ºF  or shallow fry on pan till golden brown and set aside.
  5. Heat the oil in another pan fry onion till golden brown .
  6. Add tomato ginger garlic paste ,garam masala powder mix well cook covered for few minutes.
  7. Then add red chili powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,salt to taste,  green chili mix well allow cook for 5 minutes or until oil separates from masala.
  8. Add cashew nut powder/paste keep stirring and cooking for few more minutes.
  9. Reduce the heat to low and add cream mix well.
  10. Then add grilled paneer,onion,tomato,and capsicum mix well.
  11. Finally add remaining garam masala kasoori methi mix well, allow to cook for few more minutes.
  12. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with chapati , naan,masala rice, butter naan.
  14. Enjoy
