Dalcha recipe is a classic and traditional lentil stew popular in Nawabi cuisine, typically served along with biriyani, ghee rice or pulao. Traditionally, Dalcha is made with goat meat and lentils.It is a simple and easy recipe that is quite flavorful. There are many versions of Dalcha recipes from different regions of India. lets learn how to make my version of Dalcha.
Ingredients-
- Channa dal 1 cup
- tomatoes 2 cups
- spinach roughly chopped 1 bunch
- red chili powder as per taste
- turmeric powder 1/2 tpn
- water 3-4 glasses
- Cooking as required
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tpn
- Garam masala powder 2tpn
- Tamarind paste 1cup ( soak the tamarind in hot water for some time and squeeze to get paste )
- Boiled goat meat 300gm with stock
- Salt to taste
Process-
- Pressure cook channa dal with tomatoes , spinach , red chili powder and tumeric powder till dal is cooked completely.
- When pressure cooker is cool down blend the dal mixture for smooth texture and set aside.
- Heat the pan add oil , ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes.
- Then add garam masala powder salt to taste , mix well.
- Then add cooked dal, mix it well.
- Finally add boiled meat, meat stock to adjust the consistency and add salt to taste.
- Mix it well and allow it to cook on medium flame for at least 10-15 minutes with occasional stirring.
- Cooking on medium flame for long time will bring all the flavors together.
- dalcha is ready .
- serve hot with masala rice , pulao,or even with biryani.
