Ingredients For Sugar Syrup
- Granulated sugar 2.5 cup
- Water 250 ml
- Ilaichi powder 1/2 teaspoon
Ingredients For Balushahi:
- All purpose flour -1 cup
- Ghee 1/4 cup
- Water 1/4 cup
- Yogurt 1 teaspoon
- Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Instructions:
- In a large wide pan add granulated sugar.
- Add water.
- Bring it to boil with constant stirring .
- Now add ilaichi powder let it boil for few seconds.
- Transfer the sugar syrup in to a bowl and set aside.
- In a large wide bowl add ghee.
- Add water.
- Add all purpose flour.
- Add yogurt.
- Add baking powder.
- Mix all the ingredients.
- Knead the dough and keep aside for 5 minutes.
- Cut the dough in to 4 equal parts.
- Now make three small peda’s with each part .
- Take one peda in middle of your palm.
- With the other hand start rolling in between your palms until you get nice shape.
- Make the hole in the center and set aside.
- Make all the balushahi with same technique.
- Heat the ghee on low flame.
- Put small part of dough if it come up quickly that means the ghee is ready to fry.
- Add balushahi for frying.
- Let them fry on low heat until they come up.
- Keep frying on low heat until golden brown and flip them.
- Fry on the other side till golden brown and take them out.
- Put them in sugar syrup for 4 minutes on one side and flip them and leave them in syrup for 4 more minutes.
- Garnish them with sliced pistachios and kesar and enjoy.
