Paneer Jalfrezi

Introduction:

Jalfrezi  is a type of Indian Chinese cuisine that involves frying marinated pieces of meat, fish or vegetables in oil and spices to produce a dry, thick sauce. As the dish includes green chilies, a jalfrezi can range in heat from a medium dish to a very hot one. Typically those eating jalfrezi cool it down by combining it with cream.Other main ingredients include bell pepper , onion cabbage and tomato.

Ingredients:

  • Paneer cubes 1/2 kg
  • Onion ( thin sliced) 1 cup
  • Tomato (finely chopped) 1 cup
  • Red bell pepper (thin sliced) 1 cup
  • Orange bell pepper (thin sliced) 1 cup
  • Yellow bell pepper (thin sliced) 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon
  • Gram masala powder 2 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri red chili powder 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili (grated) 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil 2 tablespoon
  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup (optional)
  • Salt to taste.

Procedure:

  1. Heat the oil in pan and add onion and fry till golden brown.
  2. Now add gram masala powder, ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes.
  3. Then add red chili powder ,turmeric powder, grated green chili salt to taste and saute for few minutes.
  4. Now add bell pepper (red ,orange,yellow) and saute til bell pepper starts becoming soft.
  5. Then add tomatoes and mix well allow to cook for few more minutes until tomatoes become soft.
  6. Finally add paneer cubes mix well cook covered for five minutes.
  7. Then add fresh cream mix well .
  8. Serve hot with chapati and rice.
