Aaloo Palak

Introduction:

(Fried potatoes dipped in spinach curry) is made with potatoes instead of paneer, and is popular throughout India and Pakistan. Palak Aaloo is usually served with naan, chapati. Palak Aaloo can be made with both spinach and mustard, although spinach is the most common. Palak Aaloo is commonly served hot, with pulao, and topped with ghee.

Ingredients:

  • Two medium sized potato peeled and cut into cubes
  • Onion 1 medium size  ( sliced)
  • Tomato 2 medium sized ( finely chopped)
  • Spinach (palak) 4 cups ( finely chopped )
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder (jeera) ½ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder ½ teaspoon
  • Coriander powder (dhania) ¼teaspoon
  • Turmeric  ¼ teaspoon
  • Oil 3 tablespoon for frying
  • Salt To taste.

Procedure:

  1. -Heat the pan add oil , and put potato cubes and fry them in hot oil till golden brown,keep aside.
  2. In the same pan, add onions and fry till golden brown .
  3. Add cumin powder,coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste,mix well.
  4. Now add chopped  tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are become soft.
  5. Add the spinach leaves and salt and cook for 12 – 15 minutes on a low flame.
  6. Finally  add fried potato cubes and mix well.
  7. Serve hot with pulao or chapati  and topped with ghee.
  8. Enjoy!!!
